Series - BE COLORFUL
Written by - SHADI GHADIRIAN
It is rigid to live in Iran as a woman in comparison with other countries. It is harder to be a photographer working on women’s issues. To show your thoughts you have to work under special circumstances and deal with the dilemma of choosing between the reality and your dreams .
There are always restrictions and boundaries. It is not always one with public opinion.
In Iran, there are some who break these limitations. I have tried to show both limitation and freedom. You are free to wear a red shirt but your features would have to be unclear and not highlighted. Even the choice of colour - is one right that a woman in Iran does not enjoy. |
